Car was imported from Australia. It’s right hand drive with right side shift.

A proper GT40 replica should have the steering on right as the originals were like that too. This applies to the shifter placement too.

There are fuel rails so they are just throttle bodies.

The owner explained that versions with a center shift had problems with the shift linkage because it was a cable type. Mounting to the outboard allows a more direct linkage.

I saw one replica on Saturday but I didn’t happen to peek inside. It didn’t look as nice as this.

There’s one “half replica” in Sweden. I have seen it racing in one historic race class in 2012. It looked nice but the owner was driving really carefully and it was very slow.

According to rumors had been built from leftovers from a badly crashed GT40. There wasn’t much left from the original though. Basically it was a replica by Superperformance.
